Our Core Values
Hello
Founders
Reconnecting Families and Communities is a community-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the community. Growing up in Norfolk, Immanuel and Janise participated in community programs. While coming from a life of poverty, having a good education and being active in the community was a priority. After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School, Immanuel Perry is a proud alumnus of Old Dominion University, where he received his bachelor’s in Psychology. Janise achieved a technical diploma while attending Booker T Washington High School, which allowed her to gain her Cosmetologist License two months after graduating. She later received her associate degree in Human Services from Tidewater Community College. Janise is in her senior year at Old Dominion University, pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Human Services. Their love for people and the youth has made them great role models to many. While fostering children in care for the past eight years, they would start a non-profit organization together in 2022. As community leaders and activists, they pledged an open-door policy to those who need them. They like to lead by example, always encouraging others to stay positive. Seeing the need for help in Hampton Roads and decreased services, they vowed to change their community.
